1. About this policy

This Cookie Policy explains how Energyglaze Glass Ltd (“Energyglaze”, “we”, “us”) uses cookies and similar technologies on energyglazeglass.co.uk. “Similar technologies” means browser local storage and session storage, and third-party content or scripts that can store or read information on your device. In this policy we refer to all of these as “cookies”.

Energyglaze Glass Ltd (company number 16454036). Our address is West Riding House, 41 Cheapside, Bradford, BD1 4HR.

2. How consent works on this website

Before you make a choice, Statistics and Marketing storage are set to denied by default for every visitor, wherever they are located. Necessary technologies used to operate the website and consent system remain active. Google’s tag may still send consent-aware cookieless measurement requests while Statistics and Marketing storage are denied, as explained in section 5.

If you choose Statistics, Google Analytics may use analytics cookies such as _ga and _ga_* to help us understand how the website is used.

If you choose Marketing, Energyglaze may also retain campaign-attribution information for the current browser session, such as UTM campaign parameters and advertising click identifiers, so we can understand which advertising led to an enquiry.

Google Maps content is also consent-controlled. It is not loaded until you either accept Marketing or click “I agree” on the map. Energyglaze displays a locally hosted preview of embedded YouTube videos without contacting YouTube. YouTube is contacted only if you choose to press Play (see section 6).

You can change or withdraw your choices at any time using the “Cookie preferences” control in the website footer, or the consent options at the end of this policy.

When the cookie banner appears you can choose “Accept all”, “Reject all”, or “Manage preferences”. “Manage preferences” lets you turn Statistics and Marketing on or off individually, then confirm with “Save preferences”.

3. Categories we use

3.1 Necessary

These are used to operate the website and consent system, for example to remember the cookie choices you have made and support essential website functionality. They are used where consent is not required under the applicable rules. They are not used by Energyglaze to track you across other websites.

3.2 Statistics

Used only if you consent to Statistics. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the website, such as which pages are viewed, so that we can improve it.

3.3 Marketing

Used only if you consent to Marketing (or, for Google Maps, if you agree to that individual service). We use marketing technologies for campaign attribution, to measure the effectiveness of our advertising, and to load consent-controlled third-party content (Google Maps). YouTube videos work differently and are explained in section 6.

4. Enquiry forms and campaign attribution

When you send an enquiry using one of our forms, the form also sends some technical details with your answers: the title and address of the page you used, and the date and time of your enquiry.

If you have given Marketing consent, our own script stores campaign information in your browser’s session storage under the name eg_track. This information includes UTM campaign parameters, the Google Ads click identifier (GCLID), the Meta/Facebook click identifier (FBCLID), the landing page and the referring website. It is kept only for that browser session, so it can be included with an enquiry you send from another page of the website. It is included with your enquiry, together with a short summary of the lead source (for example “Google Ads”).

If you have not given Marketing consent (before you choose, after “Reject all”, with Statistics only, or after withdrawing Marketing consent):

Your enquiry itself (for example your name, contact details, postcode and the service you are interested in) is sent whatever your cookie choices are, because we need it to respond to you.

5. Google Analytics and Google Consent Mode

We use Google Analytics 4 through the Google tag, which is managed by the Google Site Kit plugin and uses Google Consent Mode. The Google tag loads on every page. Before you make a choice, it starts with analytics storage and advertising storage (analytics_storage, ad_storage, ad_user_data and ad_personalization) set to “denied”, for every visitor. These settings change only if you give consent: Statistics enables analytics storage, and Marketing enables advertising storage.

While the relevant consent is denied, Google Analytics and advertising cookies are not read or written on your device. However, Google’s tag may still send consent-aware cookieless measurement requests to Google, for example to record that a page was viewed together with your consent status. These requests do not use Analytics or advertising cookies. Google uses them for aggregate measurement and modelling. As with any request a browser makes to a server, they inherently include technical information such as your IP address and browser (user-agent) details. They may also include the address of the page being viewed, including any campaign parameters in that address. This is separate from what Energyglaze stores on your device or sends with an enquiry (see section 4).

If you withdraw Statistics consent, Google Analytics stops reading and writing its cookies. Analytics cookies that were set earlier may remain in your browser until they expire or you delete them, but they are not used while consent is denied. You can delete them at any time in your browser settings.

Information processed by Google is subject to Google’s privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.

6. Google Maps and YouTube

Google Maps. Our Contact page includes a Google map. It is not loaded when the page opens. Instead, you will see a placeholder. If you click “I agree” on the placeholder, only the map is loaded. The map is also loaded if you accept Marketing. Once loaded, the map is delivered directly by Google, which will receive technical information such as your IP address and browser details, and may set or read its own cookies, under its own privacy policy.

YouTube. Some pages include a YouTube video. Energyglaze displays a locally hosted preview of embedded YouTube videos without contacting YouTube, so YouTube is not loaded simply because the page loads. If you choose to press Play, your browser connects to YouTube so that the requested video can be provided. YouTube may then receive technical information, such as your IP address and browser details, and may set or read cookies or similar storage in connection with the video and its service, under its own privacy policy. We use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced embedding mode (youtube-nocookie.com) where available.

Playing a video does not change the cookie preferences you previously selected. Pressing Play is not consent to Marketing, and your choices stay as you set them unless you change them through “Cookie preferences”.

Energyglaze does not maintain a visitor-level central database of individual cookie choices. Your preferences are stored in your browser using the consent technologies listed above and are communicated to relevant website services so that those choices can be respected.

8. Managing cookies in your browser

You can also delete cookies and site data, or block them, in your browser settings. If you block all cookies, some parts of the website, including remembering your consent choices, may not work properly. If you delete your cookies, the cookie banner will appear again on your next visit.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the technologies we use change. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
