Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to replace the whole window if the glass has misted?

Not always. Misting between the panes usually means the sealed glass unit has failed rather than the frame. If the frame is in good condition, replacing the sealed unit is often all that's needed.

Can you replace the glass and keep my existing frames?

Yes, where the frames are suitable. We check their condition during your free assessment and will tell you honestly whether they can be kept.

What causes double glazing to mist up?

Each sealed unit has a seal around its edge. Over time that seal can break down and let moisture in between the panes, which shows up as condensation or a cloudy haze.

Can older double glazing be upgraded?

Often, yes. If the frames are suitable, older sealed units can be replaced with new units made with Pilkington energiKare™ energy-efficient glass.

What happens during the free home glazing survey?

We visit at a convenient time, assess your existing glass and frames, and talk you through what we find and the options available. There's no charge and no obligation.

Is the survey free?

Yes. The home glazing survey is free, with no obligation to go ahead. If you decide you’d like to proceed afterwards, we’ll then provide a clear quotation.

Do you also replace complete windows and doors?

Yes. If your frames aren't suitable to keep, or you'd simply prefer new ones, we can also quote for complete replacement windows, doors, porches and conservatories.

Not Sure Whether Your Windows Need Replacing?

Let us take a look. We'll explain whether your existing frames are suitable and what options are available.
